Performed activities

The COVID-19 Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan (SPRP) 2021 was published by WHO to update global strategic priorities and help guide the health response to the pandemic (link ). A companion monitoring and evaluation framework was also released (link ).

We developed two dashboards using R Shiny to track global progress of the COVID-19 SPRP 2021, one publicly available and one for WHO internal use.

Monitoring and evaluation data displayed on the dashboards comes from all levels of WHO, while some data is available on the WHO data warehouse, most of it is provided through individual Microsoft Excel files and needs to be managed. To facilitate the work of the data manager in charge of importing the monitoring and evaluation data into the WHO data warehouse:

• we developed a dedicated data management procedure
• we partially automated data management through the use of an R script
• we implemented the required configuration into the WHO data warehouse to accommodate the monitoring and evaluation data
