Data analysis for the Médecins du Monde report on access to healthcare in France

The annual report on access to healthcare among vulnerable groups is publicly available on the Médecins du Monde website .
Performed activities
Médecins du Monde, a French NGO, operates fourteen health centres across France to improve access to prevention, healthcare and social rights for the most vulnerable populations.
Since 2000, it has published an annual report based on the data from its health centres to improve understanding of marginalized populations, raise awareness among key stakeholders, and propose measures to enhance access to rights and healthcare for vulnerable groups.
In 2025, Sigia was contracted to clean and analyse the data from the health information system used by these centres and to draft the 2025 report.

Drawing on data covering 1 647 variables, we conducted detailed analyses for the 15 118 people who attended the health centres in 2024. Beyond activity indicators, the analyses covered multiple dimensions, including:
- Health status of participants
- Access to healthcare and to health coverage
- Socio-demographic determinants of health — such as age, gender, migration history, administrative status, physical or social environment or economic conditions

Comprehensive descriptive and explanatory results for each variable of interest were presented through several hundreds of figures and interactive tables. To facilitate navigation and retrieval, results were delivered in HTML format (a flexdashboard built with the R Statistical software), enabling:
- Easy navigation across topics and sections
- Custom sorting of tables
- Download of tables in Excel format
- Download of figures
Based on these results, we prepared an initial draft of each section of the report ("Observatory on access to healthcare in Médecins du Monde programmes"), and facilitated their review by Médecins du Monde experts through dedicated online meetings. Each section was then finalized collaboratively based on the consensus reached with Médecins du Monde teams.
The annual report is publicly available on the Médecins du Monde website .
